SHEPWAY & DISTRICT BOWLS ASSOCIATION Founded 1973 COMPETITION RULES. Dress Code: Club colours and/or White Tops for all games. HUDSON CUP & EASTON CUP This interclub knockout competition is open to all members of the clubs affiliated to the association. Games to be played on or before the date on the Competition Fixtures. Any dispute to be taken to the Sub Committee. The team will comprise of 2 fours played one Home and One Away, playing 18 ends. Play shall commence at 6pm. 30 minutes only shall be allowed for late arrival, as per Bowls England Rules. The aggregate score of both fours shall decide the winner. Trial ends are allowed. The Challengers Home team to play the extra end in case of an equal score. In case of inability to play on the designated day due to exceptional weather or any emergency the challenger shall offer 2 dates prior to the next round to the opponent. In the event of a dispute regarding the re-arranged match the competition secretary or Rules dispute committee shall arrange the date for the match to be played and this must be complied with. 12 ends must be completed to gain a result. If less than 12 ends have been completed due to weather conditions or darkness or other valid reason the game shall be recommenced at the earliest opportunity, with the scores as they were when the game was abandoned (an end started but not competed shall be replayed). Results to be sent by the Home team Captain or Club Representative to the Competition Secretary by midday the following day. Scorecards must be checked, agreed and signed by the loser. Scorecards to be saved in case of dispute or can be photographed and attached to e-mail. Results to be sent to [email protected] only. SHEPWAY SINGLES (21 SHOTS) This competition is open to all members of the clubs affiliated to the association. The challenger shall at the earliest opportunity and not more than 7 (seven) days from the completion of the preceding round, offer their opponent a minimum of 3 dates one of which must be an evening and one a weekend and make all arrangements and booking the rink also provide a Marker. That any person entering must be available to play in the FINAL’S Weekend, which is held on the Saturday in the middle of September. Should any person after entering find that they cannot complete the competition they MUST withdraw immediately. Trial ends of 2 or 4 woods each are allowed. Results to be sent to the Competition Secretary by the winner no later than midday the following day. Scorecards must be checked, agreed and signed by the loser. Scorecards to be saved in case of dispute or can be photographed and attached to the e-mail. Results to be sent to [email protected] only. Start of play is 10.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. start 30 minutes only shall be allowed for late arrival, as per Bowls England Rules. In the event of any dispute between clubs or opponents regarding the above rules the matter shall be referred to the Sub-committee whose decision shall be final. NO extensions will be allowed games must be played by the date stated. Unbadged Singles Rules as above This for bowlers who do not have a County Badge or have not already won this competition. SHEPWAY PAIRS & MIXED PAIRS The competition is open to all members of the clubs affiliated to the association. The challenger shall at the earliest opportunity and not more than 7 (seven) days from the completion of the proceeding round offer their opponents a minimum of 3 dates one of which must be an evening and one a weekend.and make all the necessary arrangements. That any person entering must be available to play in the FINAL, which is held on the Saturday in the middle of September. Should any person after entering find that they cannot complete the competition they MUST withdraw immediately. Substitutions. The players taking part in the first game shall constitute the team. Players may change positions between rounds even if no substitute is involved. One additional player may be used as a substitute at any time provided she/he have not already played in the competition. She/he may play in any position. Results to be sent to the Competition Secretary by the winner by midday the following day. Scorecards must be checked, agreed and signed by the loser. Scorecards to be saved in case of dispute or can be photographed and attached to the e-mail. Results to be sent to [email protected] only. Trial ends of 2 or 4 woods each are allowed. All Competitions NO extensions will be allowed, games must be played on or before the date stated. unless exceptional circumstances have rendered it impossible for play to take place. In such circumstances, the alternative date fixed by the Sub Committee must be accepted by all parties. In the event of no communication being received by the opponent from the challenger, or by the challenger from the opponent, to arrange a date of play, both should attend the challengers green at 6pm on the 'fixed date'. It must be generally understood that all dates offered imply evening play, to commence at 6.00pm, and not later than 6.30pm or as previously agreed by mutual consent. The exception being on Finals Day when play shall commence at 10.00am or at such time as the Shepway Committee may dictate. All players names to be written on the score card. 2 rinks to be offered by the home player and randomly drawn by the opponent. That any person entering must be available to play in the FINAL’S Weekend, which is held on the Saturday in the middle of September. In the event of any dispute between clubs or opponents regarding the rules the matter shall be referred to the Sub committee whose decision will be final. Finals Day to be the 2nd Saturday in September but can run over until Sunday if required, only 3 games can be played by any one person on a single day.
